The membership of the Association shall be open to individuals and institutions that are committed, active and interested in Library and Information Management and services. Every member shall be bound and adhere to the principles and professional conduct and code of good practice.

Types of Membership

Descrition

Personal

  • Ordinary – Librarians, Information Scientists, Documentalists, Archivists, Data Managers and other information professionals.
  • Students – any person studying Library and Information Science.
  • Retired – people who were working as Librarians and Information professionals and are pensioners.
  • Fellow – people who have changed career from Library and Information Sciences to other professions

Institutional

  • Library and Information Centers, Corporate Bodies, Learning Institutions, Societies and other organizations, which maintain or are interested in library and Information Services.

Honorary

  • Persons who have rendered distinguished services in promoting the objectives of the Association, may be elected honorary members at an annual general meeting. Honorary members shall be entitled to the same rights and privileges as personal members.

Corresponding

  • Persons and institutions outside Lesotho may be admitted as corresponding members. Corresponding members shall be entitled to receive publications usually distributed to members but they may not vote or hold office.

Endowment

  • Persons or Institutions may be admitted to endowment membership. Such members shall have all the privileges of membership.
